When I was working in Chennai, I used to go to my home town Pondicherry every weekend. Friday evening 6'O clock aana podhum bag maatikittu ooruku kilambiduven. Thiruvanmiyurla bus pidicha next 2.5-3 hrsla naan enga veetuku poi serndhuduven. Apuram enna amma samaichu vacha saapaadudhaan dinner.

Pondicherry is a peaceful and a small town. Idha naan solli thaan ungaluku theriyanumnu avasiyam illanu nenaikiren. :-) Since most of my (Pondy) friends are working in chennai, they also return to Pondy every weekend. We play cricket on saturdays, go to movie on sundays. Movie tickets (even the black tickets) are cheaper in Pondy when compared to Chennai theatres. On saturday and sunday evenings, we assemble at beach. Naatla nadakra muikyamaana, thevaiyaana/thevai illadha vishayam pathina discussion ellaam inga thaan nadakkum. Veetuku pogum bodhu paani poori/masala poori saaptu ammakitta thittu vaangradhum undu. Last but not least, I can enjoy the home food atleast 2 days in a week. Moreover I can get escaped from washing my dresses. ;-)

One fine friday evening I was returning to Pondy. As usual busla suryan FM paatu jora paadittu irundhuchu.... two persons of age 40 stopped the bus near Kovalam and got inside....yaaru pa adhu checking inspector maadhiri bus-a stop panni yerradhunu think panradhukkulla they started checking the tickets one from the front side and another one from rear side.... adada transport dept ozhunga workaagudhunu sollite pocketa paathaa ennoda ticketa kaanom :(....thooki vaari potuduchu.... since I was standing at the centre, both of them were coming towards me from both ends...busla vera "Payana cheetu illaadha payanigalidam Rs.500 abaraadhamaaga vasoolikkapadum"nu bold lettersla ezhudhi irundhaanga...adhaa paarthadhum ennoda bayam innum adhigamaachu...bcoz i had only Rs.200+.... inniku ennoda maanam (irukaannu buthisaali thaanama ketka padaadhu) Bay of Bengal kappalla etha poraanganu mudivukke vandhuten....finally both of them attacked me at the same time....

vera vazhi illaama...asattu sirippu sirichitte..."sir ticket tholannnnju pochuuu..." nu sonnen.... enna avanga oru look vitutu, verified their list and came to know that one ticket was not verified....enakku romba sandhosham.....

"Innoru ticket vaangi adha bathirama vachikonga" nu sollitu keezha irangitaanga...

by that time, we had reached Kalpakkam....Nalla vela maanam pogala....bought the ticket for Kalpakkam to Pondy again....

After all these things happend, pakkathila ninnutu irundha oru punniyavan, thambi konja nerathukku munnadi pacha colorla oru ticket parandhu pochu adhu ungalodayudhanu kettar....

Vandhuten.....

Long time no see (even my blog :( ). Cudnt find time to visit any of the blogs in the last 2 weeks due to personal & offical works, labor's day long weekend trip, B'Day celebrations followed by parties...etc. My friends celebrated my B'Day in the same fashion. This time they performed abishega araadhanaas to Murugan (its me) using a mixture of Pepsi, milk, curd, ghee, grape juice and mango juice. Nalla vela fridge-la vera edhuvum illa, illana adhayum mix panni irupaanga. I am damn sure that in one of the upcoming B'Day celebration(s), this mixture will do some chemical reactions and gonna blast. Idhoda vitu irupaanga? nope...they throwed eggs too :(....

Let me tell abt my labor's day long (just 3 days) weekend trip. This trip was a sudden one and was not pre-planned. We went to a rental car agency to enquire for a mini-van for our trip. Since it was a long weekend, we worried that we wont get any. But luckily got one Dodge caravan. Veeetuku vandhom, dress-a pack panninom, and started for the trip in next 30 mins. First we went to Portlandand picked up remaining of 3 of our friends. During our dinner, We decided to go to Las Vegas which is 1300 miles from our place and it will take 18 hrs to reach. Edha pathiyum kavala padama kelambinom. Evening 6PM-ku start pannina vandi, next day 1:30PM-ku Las vegas-la poi thaan stop aachu (excluding 4 stops for filling gasoline).

When we reached LV, the temp was 102deg F. It was so hot (idhu konjam too much thaan illa). We spent 1 day and 2 nights at LV. LV is a different world-nu sollalam. In our trip we visited Hoover dam and Grand canyon too. Edho oru padathula Hoover dam-la irundhu James Bond jump panninaarame, naanum jump pannanlaamnu paathen, but since it was just 725 ft in height it didnt meet my expectations, I dropped my plan ;-).

I have to tell abt Grand canyon. Jeans padathula namma Aishu indha edathula thaan Haira Haira song-ku dance panninaangalaam. Did I dance? This qs is out of syllabus, so just leave it.

Points to ponder (school english bookla ipdi thaan potu irupaanga)

• Travelled for 3000 mi (~4800km) in just 3.5 days. To be precise, drove for 40 hrs at an average speed of 75miph (120kmph)
• Got a chance to travel along in 6 states (Washingtom, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Nevada and Arizona)
